| SUGGESTION FOR RECOVERY- RUNAWAYS
Please note that Search UK is not a government or police agency and should never be used as a substitute for the police. In all missing persons cases it is advised that you first contact the police and file a missing persons report, listen to the police advice given and act accordingly. Runaways At Search UK we are aware that people go missing for many different reasons and some we have already mentioned i.e. debts, depression, problems with family or friends or failed relationships. It is often the cases with runaways that they do not want to be found or traced . However if they wish to work through us to let family know they are safe, in confidence, we will honour that confidence and pass on the message. It is also possible if both parties are willing, to create a connection or even a reconciliation. Please note that unlike the other categories of missing persons the majority of runaways return home with in a few days. It is neither appropriate or necessary to take the same course of action with runaway cases as you would a mysterious disappearance or a parental abduction . The majority of runaways will contact their families when they feel that the time is right. Although you do not know of their whereabouts they know exactly how to contact you. Runaways are in a slightly different category to missing persons. Usually they are children/teenagers with whom they have had an altercation with their parents. Usually most runaways will contact their parents when they feel the time is right- however we recommend you follow the advice of the police. |
